I would like to invite you to an experience that will bring vibrant colour back to your world. I am teaching a large abstract landscape acrylic workshop. Ahead of time, participants will scour their photos and find an inspiration from their travels or even local neighbourhood. To begin the workshop I will demonstrate 22 different techniques in a step by step manner and students will choose a few of them to complete their work. Students will learn about colour, composition, mood and how to apply paint in interesting ways. Sometimes students never touch a brush during the whole workshop; choosing instead to apply paint with a squeegee, soft cloth, palette knife or plastic gift card. Since the group is so small (no more than 6 participants), there is a lot of individual assistance by me. Students come from all levels of expertise and many have never done art before. Nevertheless, everyone comes to the end of the workshop with a large painting they will treasure.
Oftentimes we look at a blank wall and wish we could find something that could fill it perfectly. We roam around Home Sense, Winners and various galleries looking for an artwork that would complement our room colours, only to be disappointed at what is available. Now is your chance to create your own masterpiece with the exact mood and selection of colours that will make your room pop. With my B.A. and many post graduate fine art courses, certification from Sheridan College in Interior Decorating, more than 30 years of high school art teaching and years as a practicing artist, I will help you complete an art work that you will hang proudly in your home.
The cost is $195.00 for the two days. A supply list and specific details will be sent once you have expressed an interest in attending.
